NYC Spectrum

A/B Duo concert at Spectrum in NYC!  (2nd night, different set!)

Tickets: $15/$10

The A/B Duo will present some of their newly commissioned works and more at Spectrum.  The program will include Limb by Drew Baker, which the Chicago Classical Review described as “the most compelling music. At just 8-1/2 minutes, Baker distills a striking atmosphere of concentrated mystery with the shimmering of the gongs set against the lowing of the imposing contrabass flute and, later, piercing high piccolo notes.” Works by Carolyn O’Brien, Zack Browning, Ian Dicke and Steven Snowden will also round out the program of compositions written in 2012 and 2013.

Program:

Sol Moon Rocker for flute and vibraphone by Zack Browning

Nocturne for contrabass flute and djembe by Carolyn O’Brien

Long Distance for percussion and electronics by Steven Snowden

Isla for flute, vibraphone and live electronics by Ian Dicke

Limb for flute and percussion by Drew Baker
